Sutara April Tucker

April is also a certified Pranassage® practitioner, Thai Yoga Bodywork Therapist, and Yoga Therapist. She received her Sanskrit name, Sutara, by her gurus at NYI during graduation. The name means "holy star" and carries deep personal meaning to April as she aspires to continue shining and reflecting the light of others. April has had the privilege of studying under numerous well-known yoga gurus and abroad in Mother India.


April has taught and developed various yoga programming as a professor of Hatha Yoga at colleges and created yoga, social outreach, and nutritional programming for youth at non-profit organizations, churches, and public schools. She earned a Master of Arts in Yoga Studies and a post-graduate certificate in Yoga Therapy at Loyola Marymount University (LMU). April further completed clinical practicum Yoga Therapy courses at LMU and earned certification as an internationally recognized Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) in 2022.


April is a mother of 4 grown children, grandmother of 2, and enjoys cooking, sewing, traveling, and spending time outdoors hiking, gardening, kayaking, and camping. She and her husband are working towards their dream of converting a school bus into a traveling home with the goal of visiting every National Park in the continental U.S.
