Professional Registration Memberships

C-IAYT

International certification in Yoga Therapy (2022).  Requires a minimum 800 hours and 2 years formal training in yoga therapy/integrative medicine, including 150 hours client clinicals practicum in final year.  Eligibility earned via Loyola Marymount University Yoga Studies Masters Degree and Post-Graduate Yoga Therapy programs.  Continuing education (24 hours) required every 3 years to maintain credential.  Annual membership dues.

E-RYT 500

Yoga Alliance registration (training 2007-2012).  Formal education in yoga teacher training from an approved and accredited school of study.  Requires a minimum 500 hours yoga teacher training and 2,000 hours teaching experience (met requirements 2012).  Continuing education (30 hours) required every 3 years to maintain credential.  Annual membership dues.

YTRx-500

Yoga Therapy Rx program (2020).  Formal education in yoga teacher training for yoga therapists at accredited school of study.  Eligibility earned via Loyola Marymount YTRx program (levels I-IV) and Samata International.

RCYT

Yoga Alliance specialty registration (2007).  Separate certification focused on children's yoga through an accredited school of study.  Minimum 295 hours education and 30 hours teaching children's yoga.  Annual membership dues.

YACEP

Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider.  Verified and approved yoga educator possessing expertise in one or more of Yoga Alliance's Educational Categories.  Annual membership dues.

Formal Yoga Education and Training

Post-Graduate Yoga Therapy & YTRx Cert.

Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles, CA (2019-2022).  Post-graduate degree specializing in Yoga Therapy in combination with LMU's YTRx standard certification program, including client clinical practicum during final year of program.

Master of Arts, Yoga Studies

Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles, CA (2013-2016).  Emphasis in traditional Eastern philosophy, comparative mysticism and religion, spirituality, Ayurvedic principles, and Sanskrit scholarship.

Aerial Yoga, Acrobatic Yoga, SUP Yoga

Self-certified as expert in yoga with substantial education in aerial yoga (NY, CA), AcroYoga (Washington, DC, MA, FL, CA), and recreational water sports.  In 2012 became master teacher trainer and program developer in these disciplines.

500-hour Yoga Teacher Training

Nosara Yoga Institute (NYI), Nosara/Playa Guiones, Costa Rica (2007-2012).  Interdisciplinary yoga teacher training to include 200-hour level (Ann Hunt Yoga/NYI, 2007-2008), 100-hour Pranassage Practitioner (Don & Amba Stapleton, 2009), 100-hour Experiential Yoga Anatomy (Sarah Tacy, 2010), and 100-hour Inner Quest (Don & Amba Stapleton, 2012).  Certified, no expiration.

Thai Yoga Bodywork

Ashtanga Yoga (Primary Series)

Primary series immersion with David Swenson, master Ashtanga instructor (25 hours).  Kripalu Yoga Institute, Lenox, MA (2011).

Thai Massage/Bodywork

Triple Gem School of Thai Massage (Jennifer Yarro), Washington, D.C. (2010).  Training 30 hours, plus practicum.  Certified, no expiration.

Pranassage Practitioner
