Let’s raise the vibration of summer’s beginning with positive energy – connect with yourself, nature, and your community and shake off anything that no longer serves you!
Bring a yoga mat, water bottle, and anything you feel necessary for comfort in practice. We will take short breaks between quarters so you can rest and recharge! Delicious vegan refreshments and snacks will be provided to keep energy up and hydration flowing.
It may sound like a lot of sun salutations (because it is!), but the concept for this traditional event around the world reminds us of why we come to our mats, taking on the challenges of daily life in a peaceful and aware manner. If you wish to participate, but feel 108 is just too daunting, join us for just a quarter, half, or three quarters of the event. If you come late, just roll out your mat and begin. Stay and show your support and encouragement for those choosing to continue through the entire event.
On a personal note, I am dedicating this offering to my nephew, Aidan, who is suffering from the effects of Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy, the worst form of all muscle-wasting diseases. When I think of this practice of 108 sun salutations and how fatiguing it can be, I can’t help but also think of how Aidan feels daily just trying to roll himself out of bed.
Aidan is currently undergoing new advanced therapy that brings HOPE FOR A CURE, but treatment is expensive.
